Eric Davis
Maintenance Lead
Eric grew up on his family’s cattle ranch off Hamilton Pool Road, just a few miles from Westcave. Life on the ranch taught him hands-on skills in equipment repair, animal management, and identifying local plants, trees, wildlife, reptiles, insects, and aquatic life.
After high school, Eric began a long career in construction, from building and repairing boat docks on the Highland Lakes to working in structural steel and railroad bridge construction across the United States. Along the way, he developed strong mechanical skills and a deep appreciation for the natural world. In early 2025, Eric left construction to spend more time closer to home, his family, and the ranch, which is still operational today. This also gave him the opportunity to support Westcave through repairs and maintenance.
Outside of work, Eric enjoys camping, birdwatching, fishing, scuba diving, kayaking, gardening, studying primitive ways of life in the Texas Hill Country, food preservation, road trips with his wife Sarah, and finding new ways to show Ashe juniper as a renewable resource.
