Girls + Outside Program Guide

Celeste is a Program Guide for the Girls+ Outside program and is very grateful to be creating community in the Austin area with participants, collaborators, and all the plant and animal friends of Central Texas. She found her passion for environmental justice in high school and carried that over to her work with youth in nature immersion programs. She graduated from UC Santa Barbara with degrees in Environmental Studies & Geography— during which she discovered the importance of advocating for traditional knowledge and reconnecting with her own ancestry. She has deeply enjoyed being an outdoor educator for the past decade of her life and she values spreading her love and curiosity for the natural world. She holds experience working in community activism and emphasizes the importance of relationship-building with both human and non-human beings. Celeste honors the work of all our ancestors, land and water stewards, and keepers. In her spare time, she loves to camp, learn the medicines of plants, foster dogs, feel the rhythms of live music, and take a dip in any body of water she can find.
