Outdoor Inspiration Leader

Nia is thrilled to be an Outdoor Inspiration Leader for Girls+ Outside with Westcave Discovery Center. The land is a source of interconnection, peace, and abundance, and this is something she loves to share with the students of Girls+ Outside! The land and the children are our future, and investing in them both brings her endless joy and wonder in life.

With a BA in Psychology from Rice University, she loves to be a resource for students to talk to about nature and their physical and mental well-being. She strives daily to continue growing as an outdoor educator and land steward.

Nia's passion for nature began in the rural area she grew up in where she spent her summers tending to her family's vegetable garden and livestock. This passion currently thrives at the intersection of outdoor education for children and farming/gardening. Fresh food and access to nature are our children's birthrights, and she hopes to nurture that seed with everyone she meets.
