MERANDA GOODWIN
Communications and Outreach Coordinator /
Natural Science Educator
From a young age, Meranda has loved the science, history, and beauty of the environments around her. As a Galveston County native, the Gulf Coast spearheaded her desire to learn about many ecosystems of Texas. Through her 10-year involvement in the Galveston Co. 4-H club, she was able to see the positive impact environmental education has on youth and the community. Her exposure to environmental appreciation has made a lasting impact on her and encourages her to teach others about the world around them.
She graduated from St. Edward's University with her Bachelor's in Education. She is a passionate educator with knowledge in agriculture and environmental sciences. Meranda was a 4th grade teacher and has taught S.T.E.M classes to children from 4 years old - 12 years old.
Meranda started at Westcave as a Natural Science Educator in 2024. When she is not leading tours down into the canyon, she is promoting Westcave at community events and online. Meranda feels fortunate to blend her passion for teaching with her insatiable curiosity about the world around her. When she is not educating, you can find her swimming at the Barton Springs or visiting one of the Texas State Parks to check off her list.
